HOW DO I GET BACK TO WAKING UP EARLY AND ENJOYING MY MORNINGS?

DEAR DALI MAMA:

People consider me to be a morning person. That’s how much I love mornings. The peace, quiet and the light of sunrises. Fitness centres have less people, the roads have no traffic … But it’s January. Mornings are dark and cold. Since the fall, I struggle to get up in time just to get to work. Never mind doing anything else in the mornings. I try going to go bed early but often I lie awake. How do I get back in the habit and routine of getting up early to enjoy my mornings again and not just rush to work?

— With love, Brrrr in Canada

DEAR BRRR IN CANADA:

Play with figuring out something delightful that you reserve for mornings that you can do for yourself or give to yourself upon waking…something that will be a special treat to look forward to as soon as you’re awake—a crossword puzzle, a morning cuddle with a pet, or a special kind of coffee or tea.

Perhaps you could try having a glass or half a glass of water (experiment!) before you go to bed and that may prompt you to get up earlier more easily.

You can also set the energy for both a restful sleep before you go to bed as well as for an easy, fresh awakening in the morning. Avoid caffeine after 3:00 p.m. and see if that helps.

Also, you can prepare each evening to streamline your morning process, setting out your clothes for the next day and anything else you might need for work. You can also take your shower before bedtime, for example.

Wishing you delightful mornings (and afternoons and evenings and nights), my friend.

HOW DO I LOSE WEIGHT AFTER THE HOLIDAYS?

DEAR DALI MAMA:

I put on a lot of weight over the holidays, largely because of stress eating while spending Christmas and New Year’s with my parents and my brother and his family. How do I stop this and how do I lose the weight? Are there any energetic “tricks”?

–Stuffed (United States)

DEAR STUFFED:

It is very common for people in the United States and some other countries to gain weight over the holidays as well as to stress eat. Overeating (particularly sugar or other processed foods) and excessive drinking (alcohol in particular but even too much caffeine can have a similar effect) can pop you out of your body, leaving you numb to whatever stresses you’re experiencing or to the issues that are getting lit up for you by being around your family.

I am sending you the free grounding exercises for you to do, which can help lose the excess weight. Also pay attention to any feelings (during the holiday or otherwise) that make you want to get the heck out of Dodge by overeating or overconsuming alcohol or even caffeinated drinks. When you feel like you want to pop out by overeating or overdrinking, it’s even more important to stay grounded so you can look at any release any energies pushing you out of full awareness so you can full enjoy being in a healthy body with choices that support your optimal health.

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR LOW ENERGY?

DEAR DALI MAMA:

I have very low energy. What do you recommend?

–Tired (Canada)

DEAR TIRED:

First of all, check with your doctor to make sure there’s nothing going on physically that needs to be addressed.

In addition to avoiding the usual suspects (sugar, excess caffeine, etc.), you might want to try calling your energy back in its divine neutral form from every place you’ve left it (with other people, your workplace, projects, various places, the past, the future, etc.) and fill yourself (your body and your aura layers, the layers of energy surrounding your physical body) with your energy in its divine neutral form. It can be amazing how much of our energy we’ve got scattered all over the place and how different we can feel when we’ve reclaimed it for ourselves.

Also, make sure to give your body enough exercise every day. Even when you feel too tired, if you can manage to get your body moving for even half an hour or an hour every day, you’ll start to feel more and more energetic.

Have fun playing with that!

ENERGETIC TIP FOR TIREDNESS AFTER SLEEP

DEAR DALI MAMA:

Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, I’m still so exhausted. Do you know why I’m so tired even after sleeping enough?

–Sleepy in Seattle (United States)

DEAR SLEEPY:

If you’ve addressed the standard possibilities (having blinking or other lights in your sleeping area, electronics near your bed, caffeine or alcohol disrupting sleep, or sleep apnea), try setting the intention to have a restful night’s before you go to bed and calling your energy back to you in divine form from the astral when you wake up. A lot of times when we’re working hard on the astral, we may forget to call all our energy back from the astral, which can help your energy levels a lot.

BREAKING BAD HABITS

DEAR DALI MAMA:

How do you break a bad habit?

–Wondering (United States)

DEAR WONDERING:

Well, there are specific things according the specific type of bad habit, but I’ll just answer generally and you can ask another question about a specific habit if you want to.

With habits such as smoking or caffeine or sugar, for example, start with looking at the triggers that make you want to smoke or ingest caffeine or sugar. Smoking, caffeine, and sugar are all habits that pop you out of your body. Alcohol or drugs as well.

So when you’re starting to get in touch with the emotional or psychic pain you’re holding in your body, you may want to smoke or do other things to pop out of your body as a way to cope with the pain. Unfortunately, with habits like that, the pain is still in your body when you come back in, and so the energies you want to escape only get compounded.

So instead of reaching for a cigarette or other substance, notice the energies that make you want to pop out, sit with those energies a while and do any processing you need to, and give them space to eventually release.

Have fun ending any habits that don’t support your wellness and prosperity!
